OJSC “MZKT” IS TESTING A REMOTE-CONTROLLED VEHICLE BASED ON THE MZKT-490100-010 LIGHT ARMORED VEHICLE.

The remotely controlled vehicle based on the MZKT-490100-010 light armored vehicle (hereinafter referred to as the RCV) is a system consisting of the light armored vehicle itself, equipped with modified devices and systems, and a control panel. The operator controls the control panel to set the vehicle's movement parameters. The RCV's appearance matches that of the production light armored vehicle. The driver's seat and instrument panel of the prototype RCV are also fully consistent with those of the production models.

The product is equipped with a YAMZ-5345-10 diesel engine with electronic control, paired with a proprietory automatic hydromechanical transmission with electronic control.

The remotely controlled vehicle is equipped with a control system, which includes a control unit with a transceiver, as well as a number of devices that allow control of the fuel supply to the internal combustion engine, the selection of the driving mode (D, N, R) in the automatic transmission, the degree of action on the service brake system and the state of the parking brake system, and the angle of rotation of the steered wheels.

The transceiver receives control radio signals from the control panel and transmits information about the current state of the vehicle. For remote control, the remotely operated vehicle is equipped with 360-degree video cameras, the images from which are transmitted to a screen mounted on the remote control.

All actuators of the remotely operated vehicle are equipped with an electric drive and control units. Domestic components were used to refine the devices and systems of the prototype RCV.

The prototype RCV is currently undergoing research testing to verify and subsequently refine the software for the processes and methods of controlling the components of the unmanned control system.
