On May 9, 2015, as usual, Volat equipment was in military machinery columns at Masherov Avenue in Minsk and at Red Square in Moscow.
Volat equipment regularly takes part in parades held in Moscow. In this year, the equipment demonstrated to the parade attenders included the mobile launcher for the Yars intercontinental ballistic missile system carried by the MZKT-79221 chassis and the Iskander-M operational-tactical missile system carried by the MZKT-7930 chassis.
At the same time, the major Belarusian new military development was demonstrated, the Polonez far-range multiple rocket launcher carried by the MZKT-7930-300 chassis. The chassis successfully passed heavy field tests and was chosen to carry the state-of-the-art weapons made by Russian defense industry enterprises. These were the MZKT-7930 series chassis used to carry Iskander operational-tactical missile systems, Bal-E, Bereg and Bastion coastal anti-ship missile systems, antenna posts for S-400 surface-to-air missile systems and lots of other systems. The key feature of this chassis is the new-generation MZKT automatic gearbox.
During the parade, the new equipment designed by the MWTP OJSC was demonstrated for the first time, the Lis-PM (“Fox”) special armoured vehicle. The vehicles with 12.7-mm NSV machine guns and 30-mm AG-17 grenade launchers were demonstrated during the parade. The Lis-PM special armoured vehicle is designed to carry personnel, up to 10, on roads of any categories as well as off-the-road, and shall be used for the needs of the Ministry of Defense as an operation service vehicle, tactical service vehicle and transport vehicle. To ensure maximum safety of personnel during combat tasks, the vehicle is provided with 5th class armour. With the cruising range 900 km, the Lis-PM speed can be as high as 120 km/hour.
The state-of-the-art technologies being in service in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus are demonstrated during the annual Victory Day parade. Volat demonstrates not only the equipment tested in time and proved to be good, but also implements advanced Belarusian and foreign vehicle building technologies to develop new models.
